GT Performer
Lives up To Its Name
The GT Performer has been described as a mid level street and skate park bike. It’s a strong little performer and capable of doing skate park tricks. It is also a head turner.
Performer is a nice, light but oh so tough little bike and is ideally suited for the beginner or intermediate rider.
Riders have told me there are some flaws – again, as I keep saying – these negatives tend to be subjective, but still need reporting. Complaints about paint wearing in the cranks; tires which, as one Australian reviewer said: “Would pick a puncture off candyfloss.” Some said the brakes were a little weak, but could be rectified by simply changing the brake pads. Grips which wear easily was another concern, as was weak spokes.
For the DIY – or more specifically, the repair it yourself enthusiast, the word is “Don’t” unless you are a qualified bike mechanic or a top techo. In many cases, self-help has resulted in added and unnecessary expense, simple tasks notwithstanding.
As far as ratings go, the GT Performer managed to maintain a high 4 plus out of 5 star rating.
Most reviewers would without hesitation, recommends the GT Performer and as a performer, it does that as well.
